We have entertained at many venues across the length and breadth of Scotland, varying from small halls to 5-star hotels and, more recently, barn/rustic venues (we prefer rustic)

Almost a year previously to the actual wedding date, Claire and David got in touch and told us about their plans for their wedding day. We love chatting with couples and seeing the smiles across their faces when they tell us about their vision and plans for their wedding.

They told us that they were getting married at a brand new wedding venue in the Fife area, called “The Den at Culross”.

We have heard of this venue before and after having a look at them online, it really started to get us excited as it looked so beautiful.

To give you a wee bit about the venue, it is still a working farm and is owned and operated by John & Audrey, a married couple who have totally made a venue to be proud of.

As we approached the venue on the wedding day itself, we crossed the Kincardine bridge and headed east. A few miles along the road, after passing a few roundabouts, we saw the sign on the fence telling us that we had arrived. The farm is actually called Blairhall Mains.

As we drove up the entrance road and headed towards the main venue, we saw the absolutely stunning courtyard with beautiful lighting, decorations and classy touches. There was a cracking sign welcoming everyone to David and Claire’s wedding, amongst tulips.

We walked into the courtyard and literally couldn’t get over how lovely it was, no wonder it has become such a popular place to get married.

We made our way inside and met Jan the wedding coordinator and the photographer on the day, the extremely talented Victoria from Victoria Photography….go check her out! https://www.victoria-photography.co.uk

For an entertainer, a major factor to us is to load in/out, not that we mind a venue with a trickier entrance. The load in literally was through the barn door right to the stage…so good!

We could get in and set up as the guests were eating and had such a great stage to use with so many plug points.

The night itself went so well and everyone was up dancing, asking for requests and literally couldn’t have wanted a better crowd.

The coaches arrived and guests left just after midnight and we were packed up and away just before 1 am. John and Jan came up to us and even gave us a can of coke for the journey home. John told us that he opened the venue in October 2019 and had so many weddings in the diary but then, the dreaded ‘Rona came along.

We couldn’t honestly fault the venue, access, staff, ambience, and layout and immediately added them to our recommended venues list.
